libxkbcommon-x11-dev software package provides library to create keymaps with the XKB X11 protocol - development files, you can install in your Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install libxkbcommon-x11-dev
libxkbcommon-x11-dev is installed in your system.
Make ensure the libxkbcommon-x11-dev package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep libxkbcommon-x11-dev *
You will get with libxkbcommon-x11-dev package name, version, architecture and description in a table
